Dave Mustaine has confirmed that Megadeth will retire after one final studio album and a 2026 world tour, with dates to be announced later this year.
“There’s so many musicians that have come to the end of their career, whether accidental or intentional,” Lead singer Dave Mustaine said when announcing the album. “Most of them don’t get to go out on their own terms on top, and that’s where I’m at in my life right now. I have traveled the world and have made millions upon millions of fans and the hardest part of all of this is saying goodbye to them.
Expect a career-spanning set—think Symphony of Destruction, Holy Wars… The Punishment Due, Hangar 18, and more—plus new songs from the final record. Check back for cities, venues, and ticket info as they’re announced, and be there when Megadeth takes their final bow on the Farewell Tour.
